Tis the month before Christmas

Each room’s been decorated by my talented spouse.
The children are listing what they would like,
A Barbie for Lori, for Geoffrey a bike.
When what to my wondering ears did I hear?
“Please Daddy, call Santa, I know he’ll come here.”
Their eyes, how they pleaded, their cheeks all aglow
Now how could a parent even think to say “No”?

Christmas and Santa Claus aren’t just for children. Santa Claus spends a lot of his time with his friends with special needs. Some of them are as young as two or three years old and then again, some, like the grand old lady in this photograph is 83 years old. In this photograph she had just reminded me that I forgot to bring her the portable radio that she asked for last year. Ooops!
